Hi, I’m Susan Densa.
I’m a visual designer and photographer living in Chicago. Currently I am the Lead Web Designer at Sprout Social — specializing in Web Strategy and UI Design. When I’m not working my 9-5, you can usually find me with a camera in hand, tinkering away at a self-assigned design project, or snuggling up with my dog, Duncan.
MY STORY
I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2007 with a double major B.A. in Visual Communication and Advertising/Public Relations. Though I started out designing print newspaper ads, I quickly became part of an in-house marketing team, creating anything from direct-mail pieces to trade show booth experiences to branding systems. My research-centered brain and interest in emerging technologies shifted my focus to working in product and web design — though I remain passionate about helping clients big and small visualize their brand identity. Outside of my day job, I dedicate time to photography and content creation. Travel and Lifestyle are the primary categories that what I shoot falls into – but much like my design skillsets, my decade+ photography experience has me dabbling in a little bit of everything. Some brands I’ve partnered with include Budweiser, Visit Indy, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and MCA Chicago. I’m also a co-moderator of the Chicago Instagram community, IgersChicago.
WHY CMYKCHICAGO?
In college, I played A LOT of online poker which required a username. 18-year-old me loved everything about Chicago and naturally paired her passion, print design, with the passion for the city she lived in. That’s where cmykchicago was born and has since been my virtual identity for every part of me that lives online.
